We are currently seeking a skilled Assembler to join our growing team. VDG is a well-established industry leader in drum motors for conveyor applications. If you would like to join a dynamic team while improving your skills, then we would like to meet you!
This role involves the assembly of mechanical components into finished products by using a variety of hand tools and equipment according to the required specifications and standards.
Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assemble and repair drum motors in a safe and efficient manner
- Position, align and adjust motor components for proper fit and assembly with the assistance of crane
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Service attachments and working tools
- Conducting quality control checks
- Grasp, manipulate, and assemble small parts and components
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ experience assembling mechanical components
- Manufacturing experience
- Computer literacy
- Mechanically inclined team player
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Basic electrical knowledge and understanding
- Ability to life up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Prior knowledge of assembly of gear or power transmission and 3 phase electric motors
- Experience assembling and repair of gearboxes an asset
