The Information We Collect
Van der Graaf collects information by various methods including information actively provided by its customers, and information arising from credit checks. The types of personal information we collect includes Name, Contact Information (including telephone number & email address), Identification Information, and Credit Information.
Van der Graaf uses Web TraxsTM (a product offered by ThomasNet®) to help analyze how users use the Van der Graaf Web Sites. Web TraxsTM uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Van der Graaf Web Sites (including your IP address) is transmitted to Web TraxsTM. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website and to compile statistical reports on web site activity. The information provided to Van der Graaf by Web TraxsTM may include:
- Total number of visitors who visited the Van der Graaf’s Web Sites;
- What web site a visitor came from (i.e. “the referrer web site”);
- What search term a visitor used to find the Van der Graaf websites ;
- The IP address, domain name, and country of the server the visitor is using; and
- Details about the visitor’s viewing of the pages of the Van der Graaf Web Sites (i.e. date and time of visit, what pages were viewed, for how long, and in what order).
Van der Graaf also uses Google® AnalyticsTM to help analyze how users use the Van der Graaf Web Sites. Google® AnalyticsTM also uses “cookies” to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Van der Graaf Web Sites (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google®. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the Van der Graaf Web Sites and to compile statistical reports on web site activity. The information provided to Van der Graaf by Google® AnalyticsTM may include:
- Total number of visitors who click through Google or Google Adwords to find the Van der Graaf Web Sites;
- The percent of visits being from “new” visitors;
- The number of pages viewed by the visitors and which is the most popular web page;
- The average time spent by visitors viewing the Van der Graaf Web Sites; and
- The traffic source (i.e. where visitors originated from).
Van der Graaf will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tools to track or to collect any Personally Identifiable Information of visitors to the Van der Graaf Web Sites. Van der Graaf will not link, or seek to link, an IP with the identity of a computer user unless authorized by law or Ordered by a Court.
Van der Graaf also collects information provided by third parties (i.e. Dun and Bradstreet) including, without limitation, trade show leads lists, and business leads lists.
Van der Graaf may collect and store information from all of Van der Graaf’s Web Sites together.

This information is used for Customer Service, Accounting, Billing, New Product Promotion, Sales and Marketing.

Van der Graaf does not share personal information with any third parties except as disclosed in this policy. Van der Graaf may provide personal information to its distributors, consultants, subcontractors and professional advisers (which shall be bound by privacy obligations) to assist our uses disclosed herein.

Individuals may review their personal information contained in Van der Graaf files by contacting the Van der Graaf privacy officer. If an individual believes that any of their personal information is inaccurate, we will make appropriate corrections.
General
Van der Graaf may amend this policy from time to time by posting an updated version on our website. If such amendments affect how Van der Graaf uses or discloses personal information already held by Van der Graaf in a material way, we will obtain consent.
